"More than just big coaches and rigid itineraries. Our small-group minibus journeys are built for discovery."

The Vehicle & On-Board Experience

  • Our 16-seater Mercedes-Benz is custom-fitted for a premium touring experience. The cabin features panoramic windows and a glass roof, providing unobstructed views of the spectacular landscapes. Inside, you will find reclining leather seating with extra legroom, mood lighting for a relaxed atmosphere, and full climate control.

  • As our tours depart and return to Edinburgh on the same day, we typically ask guests to bring only one small carry-on bag or backpack. However, we do have some dedicated boot space available. If you need to bring a larger bag, please call us ahead of time so we can ensure we can accommodate you.

  • Our luxury 16-seater does not have an on-board restroom. However, we have carefully planned our routes to include regular comfort stops at scenic locations with high-quality facilities.

  • If you need to get online, simply ask me, your driver, and I can allow you to connect via a mobile hotspot on my phone. While we are happy to provide this, we do encourage our guests to try and "disconnect" for the day to fully immerse yourselves in the journey and enjoy the views through the glass roof.

  • Yes. Every seat is equipped with USB charging ports, ensuring your camera or phone remains fully charged to capture the beauty of the journey.

  • The weather in Scotland and the North of England is prone to rapid changes. We strongly recommend that you bring a jacket and be prepared for "four seasons in one day." Comfortable shoes for walking are also highly recommended so you can enjoy the stops to their fullest.

  • We don’t let the weather dampen the experience. We carry branded, full-size umbrellas on board for all our guests to borrow, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable while exploring the sights.

Tour Itinerary & Logistics

  • To offer maximum flexibility, entrance fees to historic sites, gardens, or museums are not included. This allows guests who hold National Trust or Historic Scotland memberships to use their passes freely.

  • We depart from Castle Terrace. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to meet your driver-guide and secure your seat on the bus.

  • For our scheduled public tours, we depart from our central point at Castle Terrace. For private group bookings of the full 16-seater vehicle, we can arrange custom pick-ups and drop-offs at your Edinburgh accommodation.

  • Lunch is not included, but we avoid standard "tourist traps." We stop in charming local villages where you can choose between traditional pubs, artisan delis, or local cafes for an authentic taste of the region.

Tides & The Border Crossing

  • Our Bamburgh tour is currently our only itinerary that crosses the border into Northumberland. This specific route allows you to experience the transition from the rolling Scottish Borders into the rugged coastline of Northern England.

  • When visiting the Northumberland coast on our Bamburgh tour, the North Sea dictates our schedule. For tidal locations like the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, we monitor the official crossing tables daily to ensure we traverse the causeway safely during the "safe-to-cross" windows.

  • Safety is our absolute priority. If high tide coincides with our arrival on the Bamburgh tour, we will adapt the itinerary to visit other stunning coastal highlights or Border towns first, ensuring you still get a full day of exploration.

  • Yes, for the Bamburgh tour, you can consult the official Northumberland County Council safe crossing times. Please note that your driver-guide monitors these in real-time, as local winds can occasionally cause the tide to come in earlier than predicted.
